Pantac MOLLE Belt with Y-Suspenders First Impression

My purpose in acquiring this belt kit was to provide my customers with a base for a lightweight kit as well as a supplemental belt kit to be worn with a vest, chest rig or plate carrier. From what I have seen, this belt will fill both roles perfectly and it can be purchased here.

This belt is made from 1000D Cordura with a Teflon coating for water resistance. It uses quality Nexus buckles and is covered by Pantac USA’s lifetime warranty. I really appreciated the attention to detail that is exhibited in the belt. The waist adjustment is made at the buckle by simply pulling on the loose end of the belt. Excess material is kept in place by an innovative process using an elastic retainer and a second plastic buckle. This retains any loose webbing that otherwise would hang down and snag on brush.

The belt itself has 2 rows of MOLLE webbing all the way around built over a single row of ALICE attachment points. This essentially doubles the versatility of the belt by allowing the user to use MOLLE and/or ALICE (LC-2) compatible pouches. The belt has enough real estate to easily carry a day’s worth of gear, especially when combined with a hydration carrier. If you want to run a drop leg holster with this belt you will need the drop leg to be MOLLE compatible or simply attach it to your pants belt like I do. The belt is padded for comfort and stiff enough that it won’t sag under weight. The part of the belt that rides against you is made from a finer weave of fabric to prevent chafing or wearing holes in your clothing. I purchased the medium size belt which adjusts between 32 inches and 40 inches. Not only does this allow the belt to fit multiple people, but it can expand to fit over winter clothing.

The suspenders have a very sturdy adjustment system consisting of two slider buckles. Loose material is again swept up by elastic retainers. The suspenders are not padded in any place except in the upper back where the transition is made from the dual front straps to the single rear strap. This cuts down on bulk and makes them comfortable to wear under a plate carrier or other vest. The small rear pad can be removed for more comfort under gear.

Overall I feel that this is one of the best products I have seen from Pantac USA. It is well thought out, and is offered at a good price. Many belts of this design cost the same amount but only consist of an outer belt and the user has to supply their own inner belt and suspender.
